The Solar Plum was designed 1985 after reading some Mother Earth News articles concerning their effort to reproduce a working solar powered steam engine design by an individual in Colorado. The Solar Plum design eliminated the problems of the shadow box concept. By balancing the tracking, stop tracking commands with sunny and cloudy conditions. Conditions that created erratic tracking with the shadow box system which unfortunately stifled the wide spread use of the solar powered steam engine. |
